Siberian Cat Breed

Medium to large, with males weighing 12 to 16 pounds and females weighing 8 to 12 pounds
White, black, blue, red, cream and silver, plus various patterns and shadings

The muscular, powerful Siberian is extremely agile and can leap great distances and heights. An intelligent breed, this feline is known to problem-solve to get what it wants. The Siberian is a wonderful family pet that gets along well with children, other cats and cat friendly dogs. Hardy and healthy, this naturally intuitive cat loves being held or curling up in a lap. Siberians also are fascinated to play with running water.

The national cat of Russia, the Siberian is believed to have originated there around the year 1000. Russians who immigrated or were exiled to Siberia brought their cats with them.
