We envision a world where no one is trapped in abuse because they can’t take their whole family with them.

The Purple Leash Project was born out of the Purina mission to bring and keep pets and people together and the RedRover® mission to bring animals and their owners from crisis to care.
An estimated one in three women and one in four men experience some form of domestic abuse in their lifetimes, but the percentage of domestic violence shelters that can take pets is as low as 10%.
RedRover is diligently working with domestic violence shelters and service providers to ensure that domestic violence survivors and their pets can escape abuse together.
Find resources for victims of domestic violence and their pets, veterinarians, domestic violence shelters and advocates.
The Purple Leash Project is positively impacting the lives of domestic violence survivors and their families by helping to give domestic violence shelters the ability to welcome family pets.
Your donation will help the Purple Leash Project assist domestic violence shelters on their journey to welcome family pets by funding pet-friendly renovations. When you Take the Lead by committing to a monthly donation of $5 or more, or a one-time donation of $60 or more, RedRover will send you a special-edition purple leash or cat collar, as a thanks for your support.
We’re grateful to our corporate partners and fellow pet lovers for the donations they’ve encouraged and contributed that help people and their pets get to safety together.
Beggin’ is going purple to raise awareness about the need for pet-friendly domestic violence shelters in the U.S. and the Purple Leash Project.
In keeping with our tradition of charitable giving, all proceeds from this year's ornament will be donated to RedRover to support domestic violence victims and their pets through the Purple Leash Project.
